Jim has been working on engines and racecars all his life. He campaigned a racecar at the Langley Speedway for 3 years, and was involved with the NASCAR North West Tour and ASA with Rutz Racing. Jim also held the year-long title of crew chief for the Kirmac Motorsports Players Challenge car, and was a crew member for the Winston West Series with Powell Motorsports during the 2000 season.</p>
<p>Jim&#8217;s experience in engine building ranges from performance marine, to Sprint car and Circle Track motors, to blown Drag race engines. Jim doesn&#8217;t have blood in his veins, he has race fuel. When you call Richmond Engines, it&#8217;ll be Jim you talk to about your engine needs and ideas, and he&#8217;ll take the time to help you pick out the best combination of parts to create the performance package you want.</p>

The new and more economical line of Crankshafts and Connecting Rods from Callies are available for both Big and Small Block Chevys, as well as for Gen III LS1 Chevys. Compstar Crankshafts are forged from High-Grade 4340 steel, and are produced on proprietary forging dies designed at Callies by the same experts who produced the superior Callies Performance Crankshafts. Because of properly placed counterweights, most Compstar Cranks will internally balance without the use of heavy metal. Each Compstar Crankshaft is fully nitrided with a surface hardness of 61HRc or greater. All journals are precision ground with .125 Radii for strength, then polished to a 3Ra or finer. </p>
<p>Compstar Big Block Chevy Cranks are available in strokes from 4.000 to 4.500, and are available for one and two piece seal applications. Compstar Small Block Chevy Cranks are available as light as 37 lbs., with over 20 stroke and journal combinations, and are also available for one and two piece seal applications.</p>
<p>Compstar Connecting Rods are produced from heat-treated and stress-relieved 4340 material with a shot-blasted stress riser-free surface. Compstar Rods are available in popular sizes for Small Block Chevy, Big Block Chevy and Gen III LS1 Chevy</p>
